We have never done something like this before
Seen TV’s latest documentary Gaza E.R. drops Monday, right here on Substack
Usually, our work involves kids documenting their experience on the front lines of the genocide. This time, we did something different.
We remotely guided six American doctors & medical workers heading into the genocide. The film gives you a totally different perspective.
We test screened it in a few locations around the world, and I saw it connect with right-of-center Americans in a way that the kids’ films sometimes have not.
There is something about hearing from doctors with American accents that hits different for their fellow American citizens. Is it that they have more credibility? Or is it their relatability? I don’t know.
What has been really interesting for me is seeing WHO this film brings across the line.
At screenings, there are always people working backstage. The people managing the sound, the microphones, the lighting. They did not sign up to be at these events. They are there as employees of the venue.
And I see them crying the most.
They come up to me afterwards and tell me they had no idea this was happening. That they did not know about this genocide. That they have never seen anything like this before.
So, how do we find those people at scale? How do we reach them on social media? How do we get them into rooms to watch these films, when the algorithms hide it from them and their social circles are never exposed to it?
Because I have seen firsthand, their minds can change. Sometimes all it takes is sitting down and watching something together.
You’ll see the trailer says ‘Genocide E.R.’ as the title at the end. But we’re launching Monday with ‘Gaza E.R.’ as the title, because we think it may invite more people to watch it from the other side. What do you think?
Thank you to everyone who is a paid subscriber. You’ve got access to the film from Monday. We cannot pay salaries in Gaza or do any of this work without you.

Dear Yusuf,
I hope you and your family are well...
Thank you for sharing this.
Do you have any plans to visit the US soon? Also, I "should" be in DC for the New Year. Anas (Andy) is hosting a fundraiser for "Gaza Soup Kitchen."
Let's chat on WhatsApp, or betteryet, have a call to catch up.
Ironically, I was talking about you today, as we had Professor Mahmood Mamdani on Peter Beinart.
What an amazing human... I can fill you in when we chat/talk.
Salaam,
I'm grateful I found out about you and was able to help. The way you are documenting and helping to document and put human faces on this genocide is more important than any of us can know. #JewsSayNoToGenocide #FreePalestine
